Mock Interviews

A mock interview is a realistic, spoken practice interview tied to one of the jobs you've applied to. INAJ plays the interviewer: it asks a question out loud, listens to your answer, and follows up like a real person would. When you're done, you get a written coaching recap of what landed and what to tighten up.

Where to start it

There are two ways in:

• The “Mock interview” link in the top navigation — available on every page once you're signed in. This is the main way in.
• From a job's interview prep — once you've generated interview prep for a role on its report page, a “Practice a mock interview for this role” link appears at the bottom of that section.

Setting it up

On the setup page you make three choices:

• The job. Pick from the jobs you've marked as applied, listed by company and role. The interviewer uses that posting and your resume to keep every question grounded in the real role.
• The interviewer. Choose a recruiter (a first-round phone screen — background, a couple of behavioral questions, then logistics like timing and compensation) or the hiring manager (the person you'd report to, going deeper on the actual work — technical roles get technical questions, others go deep on the craft).
• The difficulty. Friendly, standard, or tough — this sets how hard the interviewer pushes on your answers.

During the interview

It runs about 10–15 minutes. On a desktop with your microphone and speakers on, the interviewer speaks each question and you answer out loud — it waits for you to finish, so a natural pause mid-thought won't cut you off. Prefer to type? Use Type your answer instead at any time. You can mute the interviewer's voice, and End interview wraps things up whenever you like.

On a phone? The spoken voice is turned off on phones — each question appears as text and you speak your answer. It works best on a desktop or laptop, so use one if you can.

Your coaching recap

When the interview ends, INAJ reviews the whole conversation and writes a coaching recap: how you came across, where your answers were strong, and specific things to work on before the real thing. It shows up on screen and is also emailed to you, so you can revisit it later.

How many you get
